In the last years of Lenin’s life the leaders of the Revolution reached for unconventional methods to keep him alive. A young Moscow historian is looking for archives which prove that Lenin practiced Chinese medicine.

The story is set against the backdrop of the Russian national debate: what to do with the mummified body of Lenin? Should it stay in the Mausoleum on Red Square, or should it be buried?

The case of Lenin's mummy and the debate surrounding it is, in a wider sense, an argument about the most recent history of Russia; what to do with the inheritance of the Soviet Union.

A confrontation of the cult of Lenin, taken to the absurd by Soviet propaganda, with the reality of a new capitalist Russia leads to a grotesque and absurd situation - which will be shown in the atmosphere and style of the film.
